The most ambitious and far-reaching of Maxis’ Sim lineage, Sim Earth puts you in charge of an entire planet throughout its 10 billion year lifespan. Your ultimate task is to guide the planet’s inhabitants into the stars, from its humble single-celled roots.
The main threats you face include pollution, disease, famine, war and global warming. The controls available to you include the chance to move mountains and continents, creating different levels of species, and unleash tidal waves and earthquakes so as to reshape your planet. All of these things take from your limited energy, which must be replenished.

Wow! Never found this game... I think there was a SNES port.
I'm definately going to get this!
Anyway, hope there's Sim Ant coming. I liked that game, too.

Loved all the Sim games that were released in the days of SNES and Turbo Grafx... can't wait to download.

This was a alright game. But it was a little... strange to say the least. I could never get anything going right, so I just nuked everything.

I think I played a PC version of this... They could be fairly different from one another, but I still think I'll pass.

This is not a very good version of the classic sim title. The SNES version is even better than this one. The cinemas are nice but the CD soundtrack wasn't very well used. It was tough to create a video for it because there's not a lot to the game play. It is a sim after all.

This game was too confusing for me when I played it. It seems to have more to do with screwing around with the planet itself than with playing with the life on it. It's pretty complicated. I had to cool down the planet first by manipulating various controls that I didn't quite understand, and then after a few hours some simple life finally formed. I liked SimCity better, but if you want a really complex sim, check this out.

Had the AMIGA version and saying that my stools are more fun, is an understatement.

YES!!! With this, I SHALL BE G-------D!!!!!!!
Or not. I might still have to wait for Spore before I make that little transformation, though this should tide me over until the release of said floral reproductive particle, and likely keep my recondite G-D complex satisfied.
Unless they release it after Spore, in which case, there's really no point.
Until the extrication of either electronic entertainment products, I will persist in my splendiferous gambol of "Fun with the Thesaurus"...yet even as I wrote that I can say that the game so far has not been very "splendiferous", if only because my Thesaurus is atrocious. I'm gonna go get a better one and revise this whole post.
Someday.
Edit: Splendiferious! now that would make a great ice-breaker at parties! Much better than "jovial". I think it should be changed to Splendiferous, though, rolls off the tongue better.
Edit again: I suppose it's good enough now, although I would like to come up with a better word than "persist"...
Edit Thrice: Well, Spore has arrived on the PC, along with Simcity Creator on the Wii and CivRev on the DS, and this game still has not been released, and now I have no reason to get it when it does.

Ugh... I remember getting the PC version as a kid from one of those Troll Book Order catalogs in elementary school. I loved SimCity and SimCity 2000, I loved SimTower, and I loved SimAnt (which my friend still owns a stolen Blockbuster SNES copy of! XD), but boy, was this a disappointment.
As a kid, it was way over my head, and today, it's just not any fun. Maybe it's not bad, but it sure as hell isn't my thing.
Speaking of SimAnt, I wouldn't mind the SNES version showing up on VC. Now, if only there was a way for SimTunes to show up. Well, it could've happened if only they released that darned Sound Fantasy. If Toshio Iwai created something for WiiWare, that would be something...
Fun fact: SimTunes has no message board on GameFAQs. I know this, because I've been uploading game data to the site for years, and they just don't want to acknowledge it's existence.

Let's face it - games like SimCity, SimEarth, just played better on the computer due to the higher (640x480) resolution, and mouse support.

@Mickey. I don't think "splendiferous" would make a very good ice breaker. It'd just make you sound like a dork.
I'd rather play Spore, or at least play the SNES version of this game, which apparently is superior.
