Take control of a collection of the latest Volkswagen Beetle "2.0" models (from street type to off-road designs) and race across varying road types that will test your speed and endurance (each track taking up to 4 minutes to complete from one end to another).
Find shortcuts or use nitro boosts to get to the end first in order to move on to the next track. If the computer AI is to easy for you, battle against a friend in two player race mode. Up to 4 people can also play a special Battle Mode challenge, with added abilities including weapons (from mines and rockets to magical elements) while collecting the flag and finding the exit.

Any news about this coming to the VC? This is my #1 most wanted game, but no one seems to have any info about a future release.

Oh, wow! I remember renting this game several times back in the day, and always wanted to buy it when the price dropped, but in the end never managed to snag myself a copy. It was definitely a lot of fun, and certainly a good choice for the VC as it's one of those games that didn't get the exposure it deserved on the N64, so here it could get a second chance at success. I'll definitely be buying this one.

This was easily one of the best games on the N64, and I was surprised it's not spawned a sequel over the years. Even today this is definitely worth 10 Euro.

This was among the most fun games to play on the N64. But instead of Beetle Adventure Racing, we got HSV Adventure Racing.

Nathan: This *was* released in Australia - I know, because I owned a copy. However it didn't last long on the shelves before it was replaced with the holden rebranded version. I hope we *don't* get the HSV version when it's finally released on VC here..
It was a great game, I spent many an hour with it

Indeed. I don't know any better car racing game on N64.
The courses are well designed. for example you have the lava mountain city in the jungle with an exclusive jurassic park like zone. man did i jump when that dinosaur broke that electro gate and was biting after my beetle.
Many of you will like it, it has a little Need For Speed Feel to it. Probably because EA took part on this. But moreso cause there are nitro packs on the street and you collect you get an instant boost. It has also a little Nintendo feel (maybe because Paradigm was developing it).. in each race you also have to collect little crates to get bonus points. there are many cool levels (the final city level at night where you jump into a skyscraper and drive through the rooms and through the window into another building underlined with some original heavy bass beats kinda cool somehow.) it has amazingly high jumps and intense races, the other beetles like to crash into you and such things. very detailed.
plus it has 2 player versus and 4 player battle.
yes, this is an underrated little jewel for everyone who loves great racing.
if it comes out on vc, try it.

I ignored this one at the time considering it just another racer. probably would have been a better choice than two N64 racing games i did end up buying - Top Gear and F1 World Grand Prix neither of which I didn't really like.

If launched, this will do justice and it will clean the dirty stains left behind by Cruis'n USA. This is a must. It also includes a track editor for those Final Destination geeks that want no items... I mean... for extended fun...but really worth the 10 buckazoids.
