@TheDragonDAFan it would be nice, but I'm not sure if Nintendo would accept free games on the Shop (HoloCure especially will never be paid, as stated by the lead dev)

You know, it would not surprise me that in the future Nintendo creates their own Vtuber. Crunchyroll has Hime, so it would make sense for Nintendo to jump on the Vtuber bandwagon.

@AxleMagnum Cover Corp specifically stated that as long as you do not make a profit from the projects, you are allowed to create fan made games. Idol Showdown and HoloCure were recently sponsored by Cover Corp, that means that they could see a profit, then again that is up to the CEO of Cover Corp since he has the final say.

An interesting concept. As it is, I have an idea for an RPG video game starring my favorite VTuber, Ironmouse.

This game isn't particularly special (or long, it's like 30 minutes) but it's nice to see it on Switch nonetheless, Korone is easily one of the most entertaining people on the internet and she deserves all the success and then some.

This is a trend that needs to die out. Absolutely bizarre that people want to sign up to watch someone’s scary looking animated homunculus for hours and financially support it.

@Ocaz She shows genuine enjoyment and love for videogames on a consistent basis and never actually asks for donations (or even has annoying on-stream popups/sounds), something I can't say for most of the popular streamers out there. Genuinely one of the most high-energy, positive and wholesome streamers there is. Not to mention she's effortlessly funny and has excellent taste in games both old and new.

Not being able to see a streamer's real face is a weird reason to dislike them.

@Torakaka yes, that's correct, but the original devs behind those specific games don't want them to be paid. It's not whether Yagoo (or whatever department head oversees Holo Indie) will let them make money from it, but rather if the devs themselves want to set a price, which they've said they won't.

@Ocaz How is it not? Sounded to me like you were hating on VTubers and I explained how if anything she's more interesting/fun to watch than most regular streamers? "I don't like this thing and others are weird for doing so" really doesn't add much to a discussion.

@Drake a contrasting opinion would seem that way to someone inside a fandom. That’s the way the world is currently. I gave my reasons. I find these poorly animated avatars akin to the live action fuzz suits like Barney with a different coat of paint. It’s the same level of uncanny that is more uncomfortable than enjoyable which I’m sure why a horror game is being made about this. It’s inherently creepy.

@Ocaz It's actually because she played some of the developer's other games, enjoyed them a lot and they happened to be massive fans of hers so they proposed working on a game together, but go off. They made another game with a different VTuber for much the same reason.

@Ocaz I dunno what kind of "poorly animated" your talking about, especially when it comes to a corporate Vtuber from Hololive, who ends up having concerts on the level of Hatsune Miku stage shows.

If you wanna talk indies working with whatever skills they can find in their bedroom, that's one thing. But throwing the entire thing under the bus for that is in bad taste.

In fact, I would say it's absolutely in bad taste, due to this horror game existing because Korone is a fanatic for the genre, if her gory sense of humor in the description already didn't give that away, as well as foregoing that someone would like to just to a digital larp with an audience, bringing them into their weird colorful world.

@Drake the clip doesn’t help. Makes it worse in fact. It’s the exact uncanniness that make the platform that thing represents the debacle that it is. Just a poorly mocapped avatar with an odd voice trying to be quirky in an artificial way. It’s a product, hence why I used Barney the dinosaur as an example. The degree of peculiarity is congruent.
