So when Ozone Electronics, a company based in Oldham, guaranteed delivery of the console for the middle of December, hundreds of people placed an order, paid their money and waited. Their payment was taken but their Wii consoles never arrived.
Kate Donaghey and her husband bought a Wii for £258 from Ozone Electronics for their grandchildren. When the delivery date passed she rang the company but all she got was a recorded message. The company's website then shut down, with a message that it wouldn't be able to send orders.
Local Trading Standards have been contacted by around 200 people already, but they believe the company might have taken orders from up to 2,500 people. With alot of families disappointed with Ozone there is a small amount of relief for those who paid online using a Credit Card.
Customers who bought Wiis with credit cards will have their money returned. By law, a credit card company is equally liable when a breach of contract has occurred and the original company can't pay out, if goods cost more than £100 and less than £30,000.
But customers who bought with debit cards may not get their money back. Debit cards aren't automatically covered in the same way, and customers will need to apply to their card issuer for a refund.
It's not yet clear if Ozone was a complete scam or just a company that promised way more than it can deliver. Nintendo themselves say they have never dealt with a company of that name, so it just goes to show, if you find a deal online that sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

What a bunch of rotters!
Yer I saw that last night as I was watching it.
I don't understand why they say "it's not clear if its a scam" it blatantly is, the 'company' hasn't opened the doors of it's business in ages and there no where to be seen.
So I believe they've done a runner and won't be seen again, but more fool for the people to actually believe there's some Wii's days before Christmas.
This is why if I was to do an order on a website I always make sure I use a credit card and not a debit.
