The plot is a simple one: Your fiancee was kidnapped by Dracula and so you, Richter Belmont, go on a journey to rescue her and destroy Dracula. The game has a few cutscenes to tell you the story, in the game itself you don't get anything story related.
The game itself consists of you trying to reach the end of each floor, defeating evil creatures on the way with your whip. Nearly every stage has an alternate exit, and on each exit you will have a special boss. To beat them you need good timing and good reactions.

Please NOA put this on the VC. I would pay more than 800 points to play this game, or I should move to Japan.

Richter has got to be my favorite Belmont, my first Castlevania game being Symphony of the Night. But I didn't like Vampire's Kiss much. I prefer the "castletroid" games more than the classic platformer Castlevania games.

I'm confident the US and Europe will see this game too. Just be patient guys. ^^' Now all I need is Castlevania III for the NES and Bloodlines on the Genesis and I'll be set for Castlevania games on Virtual Console. Legacy of Darkness for the N64 would be nice to have but not one I'll loose sleep over if it never comes.

OMG Dracula X! please for the love of god let this game be released in the U.S. I'm a huge Castlevania fan from way back and it's the only game I never had a chance to play. I hear it's amazing and I just gotta have it. I think I'm gonna bust a nut here.

Man that is one cool CD case. It's great that we can get rare games on VC for so much cheaper. Imagine having to import a TuboDuo back in the day to play this? It would have cost a hell of a lot more than 8 euro that's for sure. I still can't believe I can now get Neo Geo games for 9 euro.....

I really really hope this comes to Aussie VC, i got the psp Drac X chronicles, and well i would really love to play this on my tv.
But my biggest query is..... Where is CV3 on nes???
We got the other 2 nes games real quick, now why the slow releases?
And will we ever see the N64 titles?
Please Big N please

From what I have read about Castlevania 64 Ruffy, I think it's best that it never sees the light of day on the VC.

This is one game I never able to track down in my Turbo Duo days. Much like Y's (which I've been waiting way too long for) I'd pay $20 for, but hopefully it won't be more than $10 (CD game plus being Japanese.) Castlevania is one of my top 5 favorite franchises, and I won't be missing this one, unless it only comes out in Japan.

I never played a Castlevania game I didn't like--release ALL of them on VC! And YES, I thought the N64 ones were great too I don't-care-what-anybody-says!!!!!! (I even thought they were more meaningful and faithful to Castlevania than Lament of Innocence, really) I like the series so much because, while they're the same formula, they're pretty distinct. Fortunately, with the original version packed in with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, we're sure to actually get a translated version complete with some voiceovers. How cool is that for nine bucks?! And yes, Rondo of Blood is quite good. I'm not sure it's the second best to Symphony of the Night like some people say, but it's good, good stuff.
