Choose from six different pilots from a United Nations peacekeeping force, and get ready to shoot down evil in Aerofighters Assault for the Nintendo 64. You'll face the Phutta Morgana (a high-tech terrorist group that has melted the Antarctic ice cap in order to flood cities), cause plenty of damage, and achieve world domination.
Practice your flying and shooting skills in the Practice mode (seven missions, with the ability to unlock three additional missions) before attempting to restore peace in the main game, where you'll be taking on jets, subs, helicopters, and more.
Boss Attack mode allows you to face any of the superiors you've gone up against in the main game at any time, and Death Match mode pits you against a friend in a fierce dogfight. Throw on your aviator shades and bomber jacket, because you've got some flying to do.

This was an ok jet fighter game. I remember playing it for a while but still lots of other games that should be released before this one.

It was an OK game buts its easily beat, has little to no replay value. Probably not worth the 1000 points its probably gona be worth unless you really are a fan of the game

I rent it from a friend too. It was a pretty expensive game.
And it's pretty short consisting of 7 exciting and challenging missions.
It's from Paradigm, the same people who made Pilotwings 64 and Beetle Adventure Racing (so it makes the 3 Paradigm-games on the VC complete).
Aerofighters Assault is one of these dogfighting games that can really bring up tension if you appreciate it. It can be hard from the beginning but you can save after each mission. The controls are fine, just technically it's not as good as other N64 games.
4/5 Stars.

I wont be downloading this N64 game. I think they sould bring a better quality game to the VC. Also nintendo brought us the VC to a nintendo machine and loads more sega mega drive games get realeased for it instead of SNES games. Does that bother anyone else as much as me. They should realease an equal amount of games for the VC.

is this nintendo's definition of a quality n64 game coming to vc while others like majora's mask, pilotwings64, sin & punishment, ogre battle, super smash bros, all of rareware games, star wars, harvest moon, donkey kong 64 and rayman 2 all deserves new life on wii and this is their answer. shame on you nintendo! give us the real n64 games!

Wait a minute, Video Systems already went out of business in 2001. This is actually the last game in the Aero Fighters series, not to mention it's from a defunct company. And Paradigm made a miss, unlike Pilotwings 64 and Beetle Adventure Racing...

we don't even get N64 games every month (I say Nintendo should give us one N64 game a week until they make up for the months we went without a single one... but they won't). don't worry about this game though, its been here since early march so its not exactly "coming soon".

I must have been the only guy who actually liked this game. In fact, I straight up loved it. Maybe I was young and naive at the time, but then again, I also own every Ace Combat game, and numerous other arcade flight sims. So I guess I may be biased towards the genre...

I played this back in the day and it didn't get my attention even though I love combat fighter "sims." Also, considering I have been spoiled by the likes of the Ace Combat series, this would be a waste of 1000 points.

ahh... conker's bad fur day will never come on to virtual console for its offensive content alone and thats even if rare are willing to allow Conker on a nintendo machine these days (he was cut out Diddy Kong Racing DS).

Rare said they would a year ago, the problem lies in Nintendo or the price. Also a Viva Pinata for DS is in progress.
And a Mature rating doesn't mean the game wouldn't be allowed, there is the Parental Control code AND a Mature Game coming to WiiWare (Animals de la Muerte).
I can't say why they removed Banjo and Conker though, maybe because kiddies would be confused seeing X-Box 360 Characters dancing next to Nintendo Apes?
btt: They should have released THIS Game THIS month instead of releasing NO N64 Game at all

Y'know this is one of the very few Nintendo games on the N64 that I haven't played...and apparently this is a good thing? Doesn't look interesting at all really, but I can't help but mildly like the soundtrack (at least from the vid)!
