I know it was released in Europe.
But the first Ninja Gaiden was released in the first Hanabi Festval.
Then it was my guess, that Tecmo/Nintendo will release the second one in the next Hanabi Festval. That didn't happen, instead we have got a lot of Shmups.

They should have released this along the second Hanabi Festval.
Would be a nice change from all these Shmups.

Has anybody played the european version so far?
Does it have the typical borders?
This may sound stupid, but I heard on another website, that while it is an Import game there are still the "PAL Issues"?
Can anybody confirm this?

It is a good game, a really good game.
Also perfect for Shmup beginners, as there are few really difficult parts like the speed section in the final level or the last battle itself.
The humor is great too, for example the Bomberman level or the final boss, which is basically a parody of this final boss of Super Star Soldier.
It also has a Battle mode, which is mostly the same as the upcoming WiiWare game. But here the two levels (each with their own boss) are a bonus, not the whole game.
If you like cute Shmups buy it.
I prefer it over Parodius (SNES).

I loved this game, about time it came out on VC!
Hopefully we won't be waiting TOO long for it...

Star Parodier is a fairly easy-going shooter. Very nice and relaxing to play. The last two levels are tough, but not on par with hardcore shooters like Silvergun or Ikaruga.

Looks great. will get this as I already have blazing lasers and soldier blade, (also have the portable parodius game for psp.) would like to see the nemesis games released for the vc asthey are meant to be easier than the gradius games

CopyofCopyX, they could all be like this, but people are too lazy to do anything positive about it.
We all know online petitions don't work but how about a kind of online loss counter where people can register which VC games they DIDN'T Buy because of this issue and a counter to track lost profits for Nintendo, perhaps when they see those minus euros and pounds they'd realise the mistake they made.

luv shooters even tho i suck at em royally. is this another hardcore one that's gonna humiliate me once again, or does it have easygoing and fun gameplay to match the visuals?

Some of the best multiplayer action offered on Genesis, an absolute classic. Hip hop aliens = Five Stars

I love the Parodius series, but this game blows them away. I've been playing this game for years and I can still drag it out and pop it in my PC Engine and it's still fun to play. Great little shooter. Try it. : )

You say Star Parodier is THAT good? I was pretty sceptic, thinking this was a cheap Parodius rip-off, but perhaps I should give it a go then. Once we get our precious harddrive or whatever Nintendo will solve that memorything with

1942 or Sky Shark this is not:(

Series can improve with a sequel - just look at how Street Fighter 2 bettered the first game.

I still cherish my copy of Mean Machines Sega with the streets or rage 2 review. Wicked magazine, bring back Yob. Still amusing to this day.

Mean Machines magazine only ran for two years (90-92) then it split into Nintendo Magazine System and Mean Machines Sega. It wasn't ever really as good after they split the formats up.
